TMZ reports Nicole Young filed paperwork on Monday to end her longtime marriage to Dr. Dre. Young citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split.
The couple wed in 1996 and have two children, Truice (born 1997) and Truly (born 2001).
Sources told TMZ the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement with Forbes estimating Dr. Dre’s net worth to be $800 million.
Young was previously married to former NBA player Sedale Threatt, who played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets during his 14-year career.
Young works as a lawyer and TMZ claims she will be “represented in the divorce by a high-powered celeb attorney, Samantha Spector.” She is said to be seeking spousal support.
Back in April, Diddy said he would be up for the challenge of battling Dre on Verzuz. “We’re definitely talking about it. You heard it here. You heard it here on the show.”
The Instagram live series has been a hit during quarantine, but the Diddy and Dr. Dre matchup might just be the biggest one to date.
“We need Dr. Dre versus P. Diddy Pay-Per-View for the culture,” Swizz Beatz, one of the creators of the challenge said. “Let’s bring the two kings in and give back to the people. This is a give back to the people.”
Thus far, nothing has materialized, but Swizz Beatz envisioned the matchup as a “UFC-style Pay-Per-View” event.
